Milka

Mrs. Milka was the first to respond to our call on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Center
for Infertility Treatment (SPLN).

She wrote to us about the long and winding road she and her husband traveled before she managed to get pregnant. She visited SPLN in 2008 after five years of trying for a baby.

From her letter:

“Back then, Dr. Radomír Hredzák took care of us. We underwent 2 cycles and a total of 3 embryo
transfers. I went through a very difficult time, especially mentally, when things weren’t working out. I
did the third attempt under pressure from my husband to try just one more time. And indeed, it
finally worked! Maybe because by then I was approaching it calmly (with an ‘either way, it is what it
is’ mindset).

Our closest loved ones knew about our journey to have a child; they naturally went through it with us
and supported us. With the center’s help, we had twins—our daughter Karolínka and our son
Jakubko. They are now 12 years old. When the twins were 4 and a half, I got pregnant again, this time naturally and completely unexpectedly. Our daughter Lea was born; today, she is an 8-year-old young
lady. The children are healthy and talented, and they love music. The twins have been attending the
school of performing arts for 4 years. Our daughter plays the saxophone and our son plays the guitar.
Our younger daughter is preparing for her talent auditions. They bring us so much joy, both at school
and at home.

When they grow up, I will be very happy to tell them the story of how they came into our lives. I think
all couples surely wonder whether ‘it’ will work out and when. I wish them, above all, a lot of
patience and that they support each other.” — says Mrs. Milka, and we couldn’t agree more. We also
wish this large family lots of health and joy with their children, and we thank them for sharing their
story.
